Dr. J. Fulton Amonette

A native of Nashville, Arkansas, Bro. Fulton was saved in 1970 at Springlake Baptist Assembly in Lonsdale. He surrendered to the ministry in August of 1975 at Southside Missionary Baptist Church, Nashville. Afterwards, Bro. Fulton preached for three years and then ran from God's call on his life. In November of 1982, he recommitted his life to Christ and rededicated himself to the ministry of the gospel at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Texarkana, Texas. Bro. Fulton served as a pastor for 30 years: at East Fork Baptist Church, McKinney, Texas (1984-1988); Shiloh Memorial Baptist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas (1988-1991); First Baptist Church, Horatio, Arkansas (1991-1995); First Baptist Church, Clarendon, Arkansas (1995-2001); and Northwest Baptist Church, Miami, Oklahoma (2001-2014). On August 1, 2014, he began his ministry as the Associational Missionary for Arkansas Valley Baptist Association.  Bro. Fulton has a bachelor's degree in pastoral ministries from Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, Texas; a master's degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas; and a doctorate in educational ministries from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri. His passions include sharing the gospel with everyone, and teaching/mentoring those in ministry in the local church. He and his wife, Glynda, have three adult daughters and three grandsons.
